Breast enhancement or breast enlargement is achieved by a breast implant.

Breast Implant is a prosthesis used to alter the size and shape of a woman's breasts for cosmetic reasons, to reconstruct the breast or as an aspect of male-to-female sex reassignment surgery.

Our Doctor uses silicone breast implants. Silicon breast implants are filled with an elastic gel. The gel feels and moves like natural breast tissue. If the implant should leak, the gel remains within the implant. The gel used in the new generation implants is highly cohesive therefore safe, when compared to the silicone implants that were used in the past.

The surgery is performed under general anesthesia. The incisions are made under the breast, in the armpit or round the nipple.

Breast implant is inserted into a pocket under the pectoral muscle or directly behind the breast tissue, over the pectoral muscle.

The method of inserting and positioning implants depends on the type of implant, degree of enlargement desired, your body type, and the Doctor’s recommendations.

This technique does not influence future breast feeding. Small scars in the first period after surgery are hard and red, after 6 months they become soft, plastic and pale. After the operation a swelling and light pain in the area of sternum and chest may appear. It withdraws after applying oral analgesics.

Dressings and home visits take place for the next 7-12 days. For the following month it is necessary to wear pressure bra. According to the current knowledge there are no proofs that breast implants may cause breast cancers.

Satisfaction with the breast implants should continue to grow as you recover and see the result in fuller breasts.
